There’s an Easier Way to Paint Jigs

Before painting, place 3/32″ silicone rubber caps over the eyelets. These keep paint off the hook eye; at high temperatures. In the guard hole, put 1/8″ (size based on hole, check your fiber guard size) Teflon base pins to stop paint from entering.

Paint your jigs

After your jigs cure in the oven, remove the Teflon tubing and silicone caps. Now attach your weed guard, never apply heat to the delicate fiber guard.
If you must paint with the weed guard attached, place specially made heat-resistant tubing over the guard before applying heat.

For the hook eyes, get 3/32″ ID high temp silicone end caps; look here.

Pick up the ‘Teflon tubing’ listed right here.
